Right-angle prisms are available in N-BK7 and UVFS materials. Based on the principle of total reflection, right-angle prisms can be used as 90° or 180° reflectors, as shown in the schematic diagram below. When light is incident from the right-angled surface of the prism, the light will undergo total internal reflection on the inclined surface of the prism and emerge from the other right-angled surface, achieving 90° reflection of the light beam. When the input light is incident from the inclined surface of the prism, the light will undergo two total reflections on the right-angled surface, and finally emerge from the inclined surface in a direction parallel to the incident beam. The angle of incidence is irrelevant.
